Grow It!

I like to grow plants. I like to decorate with plants. I like to eat plants.

I am getting ready to bring out our Tower Garden after a season of downtime. It’s rather late to expect much because our hot summer months are closing in. In the meantime, I’ve started a few tomatoes, a Cubanelle pepper and herbs. I’m so proud of my mint and thyme. I didn’t bring them in during our cold snap and they endured! My Meyers Lemon and Key Lime tree received preferential treatment. That was a must. The lemon has performed well from the first season I bought it from the grocery store. I found the lime tree there last year and think this could be the year for a crop.

It’s so satisfying to my soul to work in dirt. Is it ’cause we’re made of it and to it we’ll return? Probably not. But maybe. I’ll update with what I land on for the TG. I’ve had enormous success with tomatoes, lettuce, wild flowers and jalapenos. We will be creating a chicken wire framed structure to protect it from the squirrels that bedevil our outdoor space. Gotta draw the line somewhere.
